I had to take a day off of work to take Little Man to the doctor, so I decided to go all Stepford Housewife and .. do .. stuff. Yeah.
I made some scrumptious banana muffins. Or, Best Banana Bread, as the recipe calls itself. Just click on the title of the recipe to head on over and get started. It is yum!
A few revisions that I have found helps: Use one or two extra bananas unless you want dry bread. If you’re making banana muffins instead, halve the baking time for each batch. Also, if you want to make them even healthier, throw in a little flax seed flour with the all-purpose flour. That’ll keep your motor going!
After making the entire place smell of banana goodness, I decided to whip up a smoothie.
Now, I don’t follow an exact recipe when making smoothies. I have made them through so much trial and error, I can basically eyeball the ingredients and still have a kick-ass smoothie. That being said, I will try to break it down.
Very Berry Smoothie
- 2 bananas – chopped
- 1 cup of fresh blueberries
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries – chopped
- 2 cups of plain or vanilla yogurt
- 2 cups of ice – more or less for texture preference
- 1 to 2 cups of milk – depending on how liquidy you like it
I put the ingredients into my blender in the order listed above and give it a go. Sometimes I have to use the “Ice Grind” button, but usually I can get away with just pulsing it a few times.
So there you have it. I actually made stuff. Wow.
I guess I must have caught some kind of housewifery bug because I got up and made blueberry pancakes, this morning. AND I made quesadillas for lunch. I am on a roll. LOOK OUT!
